External thread tooling
This family forms the external thread rather than the internal thread made by a tap.

ROUND DIE SERIES
Round threading dies for external threads. Order information includes thread diameter, pitch and tolerance, plus die outside diameter, thickness and workpiece material.
Round threading dies are intended for external threads and are specified by both the required thread and the die body's mounting dimensions. A complete inquiry should include the thread designation, outside diameter and thickness needed by the holder. State the workpiece material and operating method so the proposed tool can be reviewed for the actual application.
This family forms the external thread rather than the internal thread made by a tap.
Confirm outside diameter and thickness against the intended die holder.
Include pitch, direction and tolerance alongside the nominal thread diameter.
The thread designation defines the external thread to be cut. The die outside diameter and thickness define how the tool fits its holder. A matching thread label alone does not establish a holder-compatible replacement.
For a useful replacement request, photograph the marking and both faces, then measure body diameter and thickness. Include the retaining-hole arrangement if the existing holder must be reused. Keep the thread standard, pitch, hand and tolerance separate from those mounting dimensions.
For an internal thread instead, start with machine and hand taps. If the drawing uses a special tyre-valve thread code, compare the valve-thread tooling catalog rather than assuming a general metric designation.
Do not assume that both faces of every round die are cutting entry faces. The lead-in and backing geometry depend on the design. Also distinguish a solid die from a split adjustable die; an adjustment screw is not a way to turn one nominal thread size into another.
When diagnosing a poor thread, record the blank diameter, entry chamfer, holder alignment, material and the actual gauge result. These checks are more useful than reporting only that a mating nut feels tight. Follow the cutting direction and operating guidance supplied for the selected die.
Send a round-die replacement inquiry with the thread drawing and holder measurements.

Typical selection contexts for this series, not customer project claims. Confirm machine compatibility and cutting conditions for your setup.
Cutting a drawing-specified thread on a suitable shaft or rod feature.
Selecting a die for a documented maintenance threading requirement.
Organizing die orders by thread designation and holder-compatible body size.
Specify the dimensions, tolerances and records your order requires. Acceptance criteria must be agreed for the selected model.
Check the drawing reference faces and units. A catalog size alone does not define a tolerance or an inspection method.
List any required dimensional report, material document or model identification photograph in your inquiry. Confirm availability and scope in the quotation.
For a drawing-based part, include the drawing revision and identify the critical dimensions. Website photographs are not inspection reports.
Agree the packing method and photo requirements when confirming your order.
No verified shipment photographs for this series are currently published. Include selected-model, protective-packing and outer-label photos in your order requirements.

Stock, dispatch date and shipping method are confirmed with the quotation. Website images are not live inventory evidence.
Keep a copy of the current series information for comparison. Confirm the final model and drawing before placing an order.

No. The thread designation describes the thread being cut; die outside diameter and thickness describe holder fit. Confirm both, plus the retaining arrangement, when replacing a die in an existing holder.
The nut can help identify the mating requirement, but provide the exact thread standard, pitch and tolerance where possible.
No. State thread direction explicitly in the order requirement.
