ER Precision Collets

First confirm that the holder and nut are for ER32. Then request an ER32 collet suitable for the actual 10 mm tool shank, with the quantity and inspection requirement. The catalog’s ER32 range of 2–20 mm describes the family, not the capacity of one collet.

Start an inquiry with the ER32 catalog row. Specify the individual bore size in the message; do not order only by the full family range.

For an ER32 set covering nominal tool-shank sizes from 3 to 20 mm in 1 mm steps, list these 18 sizes: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 mm. One of each makes 18 collets per set. A request for two such sets means two of each size, or 36 collets in total. This is a size-schedule example, not confirmation of a standard stocked set.

The catalog lists ER32 family coverage of 2–20 mm. That coverage does not specify the contents of a set or the clamping range of each individual collet. Ask the quotation to confirm every size marking, individual clamping range and quantity. For imperial or mixed metric/imperial tools, list the actual shank sizes and units instead of rounding them to millimeters.

Prepare an ER32 set quotation request with the 18-size schedule, quantities, inspection and delivery checklist. Edit the schedule if you need only selected bores. If you also need a BT40 ER32 holder, specify its L1 length separately: 70, 100 or 150 mm in the catalog. List the holder, nut, wrench and storage case as separate requested items; they are not automatically included with the collets.

For an ER20 set, use an ER20 size schedule

The ER20 catalog family covers 1–13 mm. A 3–13 mm request in 1 mm steps contains 11 nominal sizes. State the quantity per size and confirm the individual clamping ranges. Select C20 ER20M Type M holders separately if required; an ER20 collet set is not interchangeable with an ER32 set.

Compare quotations against the same item list, not just the price of an unspecified set:

• Sizes and quantities: list the ER series, each tool-shank diameter, its unit and the quantity per size. Ask for itemized prices.
• Included items: identify loose collets or the exact set contents. Quote any holder, nut or storage case separately unless explicitly included.
• Inspection: agree the maximum TIR and test conditions using the ER collet runout quotation checklist. A precision label alone does not define acceptance.
• Delivery cost: provide the destination country and postal code. Ask the quotation to distinguish product price, freight and any excluded import charges, and to state the proposed dispatch timing.
• Order terms: request the MOQ per size, any quantity price breaks, payment terms, country of origin and packing method. Have stock status and dispatch timing confirmed for the exact assortment.
