Product description

BT MTB adapters connect a BT spindle to a Morse taper tool with threaded retention. The catalog groups BT30-MTB1/2, BT40-MTB1/2/3/4 and BT50-MTB1/2/3/4 into family rows. Identify the tool-side Morse taper and thread separately from the machine-side BT pull stud. Listed L1 and D values describe grouped families; confirm the individual model drawing before ordering.

Three BT family rows

BT30 lists MTB1/2; BT40 and BT50 list MTB1/2/3/4. The BT30 row does not list MTB3 or MTB4.

Grouped lengths need confirmation

BT40 lists L1 = 45/75/90 mm across its family row. This does not establish every length for each MTB socket size.

Two separate retaining connections

Match the tool-retaining thread inside the adapter and the machine-specified BT pull stud independently; neither is defined by the Morse taper number alone.

MTB drawbar retention is separate from the BT pull stud

The threaded end of the Morse taper tool is the key check for an MTB adapter. Manufacturer catalogs distinguish the MTB drawbar type from the MTA type for tang-ended tools. A matching Morse taper number alone does not identify the fastening arrangement.

  • Tool side: check the internal retaining screw or drawbolt against the tool’s thread, including thread form, size and engagement. Do not infer a metric or imperial thread from a photograph.
  • Machine side: confirm the BT interface and machine-specified pull stud separately. This component retains the adapter in the spindle; it is not the screw securing the Morse taper tool.
  • Package: ask whether the tool-retaining screw and pull stud are included. They are not promised by the family code alone.

Ordering a BT40 MTB3 adapter from the grouped table

MTB3 belongs to the listed BT40-MTB1/2/3/4 family. That row shows L1 values of 45, 75 and 90 mm across the family; it does not confirm all three lengths for MTB3. Request the individual drawing to match socket, thread and reach.

Send a BT40 MTB adapter inquiry with the complete existing code, tool-end thread, required reach, quantity and destination.

A tang-ended tool belongs in the separate MTA connection review. If both ends of the required adapter are Morse tapers rather than BT, compare Morse taper sleeves and extensions.

Specifications & model range

Dimensions are in millimeters unless otherwise stated. Confirm the final drawing before ordering.

Application scenarios

Typical selection contexts for this series, not customer project claims. Confirm machine compatibility and cutting conditions for your setup.

Limited-reach envelopes

Comparing listed adapter lengths where overall assembly space is restricted.

BT machine conversion

Connecting an appropriately matched Morse taper tool to a BT spindle.

Existing adapter replacement

Matching an MTB code without substituting a visually similar adapter.

Inspection & order review

Specify the dimensions, tolerances and records your order requires. Acceptance criteria must be agreed for the selected model.

Catalog fields to check

  • Ordering family
  • L1 options
  • D

Check the drawing reference faces and units. A catalog size alone does not define a tolerance or an inspection method.

Records to request

List any required dimensional report, material document or model identification photograph in your inquiry. Confirm availability and scope in the quotation.

For a drawing-based part, include the drawing revision and identify the critical dimensions. Website photographs are not inspection reports.

Packaging & delivery

Agree the packing method and photo requirements when confirming your order.

Order-specific photo confirmation

No verified shipment photographs for this series are currently published. Include selected-model, protective-packing and outer-label photos in your order requirements.

Photos to confirm before dispatch

Use this checklist to agree what should be documented for your selected model.

  • MTB code distinguished from MTA
  • Socket opening and taper surfaces protected
  • Selected length documented beside the item

Stock, dispatch date and shipping method are confirmed with the quotation. Website images are not live inventory evidence.

Product FAQ

Selection questions for BT MTB Morse Taper Adapters.

Request a quote
Can I order MTB4 in BT30 from the listed table?

That combination is not listed. The BT30 row contains MTB1 and MTB2; an unlisted request requires separate review.

Is MTB simply another name for MTA?

No. MTB commonly identifies a drawbar-type Morse taper adapter; MTA is the tang-tool type. Verify the tool-end thread and retention arrangement for MTB, separately from the machine-side BT pull stud. Their actual socket and length drawings still need to match the application.

Does the BT40 row offer all three L1 lengths for MTB3?

The BT40-MTB1/2/3/4 row lists 45, 75 and 90 mm as family values, without mapping every length to each socket size. Specify BT40-MTB3 and the required L1, then request the individual drawing and tool-retaining thread. Do not assume that every combination is offered.

Can you match an existing compact adapter?

Send its complete code, measured length and clear photographs of both interfaces for confirmation.
